Fashion Designing & Sewing Technology (Theory)

The coursework focuses about the field of fashion & related terms & fashion cycles. Students will have the opportunity to know about color, dimension of color, application of color, color wheel etc... The course includes a clear idea of development of sewing machine and its classification. Also, will learn about methods of stitch formation through various machines and study of industrial sewing machines. Discussion of parts and functions of a sewing machine and also detailed explanation of feed mechanism.

Principles of Pattern Making & Grading (Theory)

Pattern making will discuss about how to make body measurements in different parts of the body. Involves methods of pattern making , types of paper patterns and creating styles using dart manipulation in garment. Identify the techniques of pattern alteration and will discuss about the rules of layout, types of layout, special layouts etc.

Fundamentals Of Children's Apparel (Practical)

Designing, Drafting and constructing childrens garments with special features.. Focus on measurements required, suitable materials, cost of the garment etc..

Fiber to Fabric (Theory)

Introduction to field of textiles, manufacturing, properties and uses of fibers. Spinning, Basic weaves, Knitting. Non woven – felting, crocheting, braiding etc.

Fashion And Clothing Psychology (Theory)

Study about factors influencing fashion changes, role of costumes, fashion cycles. Involves fashion evolution, consumer groups in fashion cycles, fashion adoption theories and fashion forecasting. This coursework include visual merchandising and merchandising presentation. Understanding fashion designers – Indian fashion Designers and about World fashion centers.

Organization Of Garment Unit (Theory)

This area shows entrepreneurship, Difference between entrepreneur and manager management. Institutions supporting entrepreneurs, Different departments in garment unit. Include Factory design layout and performance of Indian garment exports- SWOT analysis.Role of Merchandiser in a garment unit.

Womens Apparel (Practical)

Designing, Drafting and constructing womens garments with special features.. Focus on measurements required, suitable materials, cost of the garment etc..

Textile Wet Processing (Theory)

Production sequence of textile fabrics – Dyeing- Dyes-classification- Fabric preparation. Include methods of dyeing, machines used and process involved fastness properties of fabric. Study about printing-methods of printing – Direct printing, Block, screen, stencil etc.. Other printing Methods – Ink jet printing, Heat transfer printing, and photo printing...

Fashion & Apparel Marketing (Theory)

Meaning & Classification of Marketing- trends in marketing environment. Study about marketing function-product Mix-range Planning-fashion cycles. Include Fashion advertising-advertising agencies-advertising budget etc… Fashion sales promotional programmed for apparel marketing-marketing research. Pricing Policies and strategies for apparel products – importance of price policies- functions and factors influencing pricing.

Apparel Quality & Management (Theory)

Quality control-establishing merchandising standards.Include quality specification-sampling plans. Study of production control – graph methods etc.. Functions of cost control and types of costs and expenses-production cost control, Cash flow controls-standard cost sheet-break-even charts… ISO9000-14000-SA8000.
